{"id":30637,"date":"2023-05-31T21:35:18","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T01:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/?p=30637"},"modified":"2023-05-31T21:35:51","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T01:35:51","slug":"nitr0-refuses-to-shut-door-on-valorant-esports-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/nitr0-refuses-to-shut-door-on-valorant-esports-return\/","title":{"rendered":"nitr0 refuses to shut door on Valorant esports return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Counter-Strike veteran Nick \u2060\u2019nitr0\u2019 Cannella disclosed that he had not closed the door entirely to a return to competitive play. <\/p>\n<p>The Team Liquid player announced his retirement from the competitive scene on May 26, stating that the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas would be his last CS:GO event. <\/p>\n<p>At the time, he divulged that he wanted to spend more time with his family, which the constant traveling required while competing made difficult. nitr0 also stated that he would focus on streaming in the future following his retirement. <\/p>\n<p>While speaking to Dust2 on May 30, the player clarified that although he was retiring from <a href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/counter-strike\/\">CS:GO esports<\/a>, he would consider offers from other <a href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/games\/\">games<\/a> in the future. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m retiring from Counter-Strike, but I\u2019m leaving my options open for other games and stuff,\u201d nitr0 said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I get an offer, I\u2019ll consider it obviously, but as of now I\u2019m just going to start my stream up and just try to just see where that takes me because there\u2019s nothing else to really do right now. I\u2019m not going to actively look for another Counter-Strike team because I\u2019m just not interested right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While nitr0 did not specify the esports scene he could get involved in, Valorant is the best bet. He was a part of the Valorant scene between 2020 and 2021 after spending six years in CS:GO.<\/p>\n<p>nitr0&#8217;s move to <a href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/valorant\/\">Valorant<\/a> saw the player join 100 Thieves, where he played alongside former CS:GO players Peter \u201cAsuna\u201d Mazuryk, Spencer \u201cHiko\u201d Martin, Ethan \u201cEthan\u201d Arnold, and Joshua \u201csteel\u201d Nissan.<\/p>\n<p>Towards the end of 2021, the team reached the semi-finals of <a href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/valorant\/champions-tour\/\">Valorant Champions Tour<\/a> Stage 3 Masters Berlin, after which they parted ways. nitr0 rejoined Team Liquid and CS:GO in January last year, and soon after they won the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 trophy. <\/p>\n<p>Moving to Valorant will provide nitr0 with the opportunity to spend time with his family while still competing. Compared to CS:GO, Valorant players travel less, and VCT Americas teams spend the majority of the year in Los Angeles. The teams only travel to compete in international tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>For now, nitr0 is playing under Team Liquid in the IEM Dallas 2023. The team were recently dropped to Group B\u2019s lower bracket <a href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/astralis-book-playoff-berth-at-iem-dallas\/\">after losing to Astralis<\/a>.
