To start the last day of Group A action, we have Fnatic taking on Entropiq. At the time of writing these two teams are currently sitting second and third in the group with identical records, only separated by a four round differential.
Fnatic has had one of the most interesting runs in this group. Starting off with a big loss against Ninjas in Pyjamas, then struggling but beating LookingForOrg and coming out the next day and putting away G2 in three maps. In the two wins that Fnatic have enjoyed through the first 3 games, Valentin “poison” Vasilev has amassed massive kill counts, 79 and 57 kills, proving why Fnatic went and got him join the team before the tournament started.
Entropiq brings solid form into this match up, with at the time of writing beating all of the teams that have crossed passed with them. Beating both LookingForOrg and Mouz 2-0, and only losing to Ninjas in Pyjamas who haven’t lost yet.
This is a big match-up that bring two solid teams and highly ranked teams in the Counter-Strike world, add in the fact that they both must win to consolidate their top 3 placing in the group. We suggest that this series should be a close on. So taking the over 2.5 maps market at +100 is the smart way to go.

Before the tournament, this series between G2 and Ninjas in Pyjamas would have been expected to be for top spot in Group A. However, G2 have now dropped 2 games and sit outside the top 3 at the time of writing, whereas NiP are undefeated and haven’t been troubled in most of their maps throughout the round robin.
NiP have been ultra-impressive in their first three BO3s, winning 2-0 against Fnatic and Entropiq, and losing their only map of the round robin in overtime against Mouz, where they ultimately took the series 2-1. As we referenced in our last preview of the Group A round robin, Fredrik “REZ” Sterner is having an MVP type of performance for NiP in the early stages of ESL Pro League. “REZ” is currently averaging a 1.46 rating out of 2 and owning the highest rating and highest kill to death difference of +55 at the event.
Even though G2 was one of the pre-tournament favourites, NiP has shown that they are going to be no easy beat in this series. Take the -111.11 on offer with the top Esport betting sites for the over 2.5 maps and enjoy this match-up of two CS GO heavyweights.

Finishing of the Group A action is a series between bottom placed and win-less LookingForOrg and fourth place Mouz. Mouz will need to take care of business here and do so in dominant fashion, to put the pressure on the top 3 teams and with results falling their way, potentially fall into play-offs.
Whereas for LookingForOrg will be trying to secure a win and go home with something more than just the experience they have gained from competing in ESL Pro League Season 15.
Mouz look like a different outfit in this tournament after reconnecting Aurimas “bymas” Pipiras with the team. He has been very consistent, being either the first or second on the scoreboard for every series Mouz have played so far. With that consistency, “bymas” has earned himself the average rating of 1.17 out of 2, being the fifth best so far in the tournament.
Mouz should be winning this match-up 2-0, but there isn’t a lot of value in these markets. So we suggest taking Mouz at the alternative rounds handicap of -11.5, currently sitting at -200 with BetOnline, is the way to go.

Virtus.pro enter this match with a perfect 2-0 record, having already beaten AS Monaco Gambit (2-1) and PuckChamp (2-0). At the start of the month VP were also seen at the ONE Esports Singapore Major, where they finished seventh-eighth after losing to PSG.LGD (0-2) and Thunder Predator (0-2).
Regardless of that mediocre finish, VP are still one of the best Dota 2 teams in the region and one of the favourites to win this tournament. Their next opponents, Team Unique, are anything but that and enter this match off a 2-1 victory against PuckChamp and a 1-2 loss to Winstrike.
Virtus.pro might be stronger than Team Unique, but they definitely shouldn’t be priced as low as -1111.11. Team Unique performed solid in their 0-2 loss to Team Spirit just two weeks ago, when they would have easily won the first map had they not lost one crucial team fight.
VP won this matchup 2-0 back in February, but Unique have since improved and should look better this time. At the offered Dota 2 betting odds, we have to take a shot with the outsiders to win at least one map.

AS Monaco have yet to win a single match this tournament, although they had to face Virtus.pro (1-2), Team Spirit (1-2), and Natus Vincere (0-2). Having already met three CIS top dogs, Gambit can now focus on picking up what should be easy points against the weaker sides.
Winstrike were far more successful in their opening three bouts, having beaten EXTREMUM (2-1) and Team Unique (2-1). Even though they lost to Team Spirit (1-2) last week, it was still a solid showing from Maxim “re1bl” Afanasyev and his crew.
AS Monaco Gambit are priced as massive favourites, largely due to their success at the Singapore Major, where they beat Team Nigma (2-0) and Team Liquid (2-0). Regardless of those results, we don’t expect them to stomp Winstrike.
Unless there’s a complete mismatch, these CIS Dota 2 clashes are generally very close. AS Monaco Gambit should still win, but it won’t be a clean sweep.

]]>The post EHOME vs. Team Root form analysis & Dota 2 re-match tips appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>EHOME and Team Root are set for a Dota 2 re-match today in an encounter which promises to provide some fireworks in the ESL One Katowice tournament.
Team Root had a tough victory over EHOME yesterday, as we predicted, in their match-up in the first round of the Upper Bracket.
Immediately after EHOME lost the game, they faced off against Royal Never Give Up and eliminated RNG, grabbing one more chance to get their ticket into Main Tournament of ESL One Katowice 2019.
> Review | Bet Now | |
> Review | Bet Now |
From the head-to-head match they played yesterday, we could see that Team Root is better in draft, illustrated by their daring to pick Sniper. Sniper is not a strong hero in this patch, but their ability to utilize this hero showed great strength and patch knowledge.
In game one, Team Root drafted a small combo picks – Faceless Void and Elder Titan. Their combo worked very well. Elder Titan’s ultimate skill – Earth Splitter – had a delay of 3.14 seconds before it could be exploded while Faceless Void were able to chorono enemies for 6 seconds for him to prepare the Earth Splitter.
EHOME was forced to call GG when END, the carry position player from Team Root, had a ultra kills towards EHOME and lead to a team wipe at the 23-minute mark.
In game two, EHOME drafted a great strategy of range core heroes, including Drow Ranger and Luna. Drow Ranger provides attack speed to his range teammate based on his agility now, while Luna is a imbalanced range hero that is always able to farm very quickly thanks to his second ability, Moon Glaives, allowing his attack to have 6 bounces to other units.
With this incredible attack speed provided by Drow Ranger, he had a great time in farming and crushed enemies, had an easy ultra kill at the 30-minute mark and only traded a supporter for that achievement.
As analysed in yesterday’s prediction piece, Team Root is playing a different strategy for Sven, which put him into a position one carry role.
They did it again in the game three yesterday along with IO supporting him. With Sven being tank and damage dealer in front line, Sniper was having a good time hitting enemy freely in the back line.
After analysing the head-to-head match yesterday, we give Team Root a 55% chance to win this match-up.
Our recommendation is to go low and bet on Team Root to win the game at better than -111.11 at BetOnline.
The post EHOME vs. Team Root form analysis & Dota 2 re-match tips appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The post Team Root vs. EHOME – ESL One Katowice qualifier betting & free tips appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>EHOME and Team Root will battle it out in a Dota 2 match that will determine who is going to the main tournament of ESL One Katowice 2019.
EHOME is the team who was directly invited into this China Qualifier, while Team Root made their way here through the Open Qualifier.
Team Root won the China Dota 2 Winter Cup title just three days ago, taking down strong teams like Keen Gaming, IG Vitality and also CDEC Gaming in that tournament.
> Review | Bet Now | |
> Review | Bet Now |
Their most recent professional match-up was yesterday in H-CUP Season 11, playing against Team Aster, Newbee Young and Keen Gaming Luminous.
From their draft in those encounters, there was not any repetition of heroes. That is bad news to EHOME because EHOME will have trouble seeing through their tactics.
The interesting draft tactic Team Root adopted yesterday was picking Sven as their position one carry in their match-up against Newbee Young. Sven is a running support role in almost every professional match-up in this match, while Team Root tried a different role for him, which could cost them the game if their plan did not work out.
However, they managed to carry out their plan nicely with the support from Dark Seer in team fight. Dark Seer provided Sven his second skill, Surge, allowing Sven to be kited in the team fight so he can hit enemies freely once he had his Black King Bar.
Team Root also took IO to support Sven in that game. EHOME might need to be aware of this draft and find a way to break these combos.
EHOME also had three matches-up yesterday in H-CUP Season. Their opponents were For The Dream, Invictus Gaming and FGB Gaming.
Their loss against Invictus Gaming was disappointed because EHOME is a better team, but their draft was quite bad because they picked Drow Ranger immediately after Invictus Gaming took Phantom Assassin.
Drow Ranger will lose his ultimate skill whenever there is an enemy within 400 range around him, while Phantom Assassin has blink strike, which allows hims to get close to Drow Ranger without any trouble.
After running our eye through the drafting abilities from both squads, we give Team Root a 60% chance to win this match-up.
Our recommendation is to go medium and bet on Team Root to win the game at better than +110 at BetOnline.

]]>The post Royal Never Give Up vs. For The Dream form, drafting & Dota 2 tips appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>For The Dream and Royal Never Give Up will face off in a Dota 2 battle that will secure the victor direct qualification to the main tournament in the ESL One Katowice 2019.
For The Dream and RNG last played on November 29 and it was RNG who prevailed in a 2-0 victory.
Looking at that last match, RNG illustrated that they definitely understood the patch and drafted Nage Siren after Magnus and Phantom Assassin were banned in the first banning phase in game one.
> Review | Bet Now | |
> Review | Bet Now |
In game two, RNG picked Phantom Assassin as their core carry because none of the teams banned him in the first banning phase. They also picked Dazzle as the second core in that match to build up the armor reduction towards enemies, so Phantom Assassin had a better chance in wiping out enemies in the team fight.
From RNG’s recent draft in the H-CUP Season 11, we could see their favourite carries have been Faceless Void and Terrorblade. They picked Faceless Void and Terrorblade, along with Phoenix support in their match-up against Keen Gaming Luminous yesterday. That game was easy for them because they had a good laning phase and Phoenix’s Supernova was always successful because it was protected by Faceless Void.
They drafted Faceless Void and Terrorblade once again in their match-up against Team Aster yesterday. Despite Team Aster picking up Magnus and Anti-Mage, RNG still crushed the game when Terrorblade had his core items.
Setsu, the position two player from RNG played Tiny in that game, he was the MVP and notched 18 kills by the end of the game.
For The Dream will need to be aware of Setsu’s Tiny in their upcoming match-up later today.
After analysing the drafting abilities, last head-to-head result and recent performance of both squads, we give Royal Never Give Up a 70% chance to win this match-up.
Our recommendation is to go medium and bet on Royal Never Give Up to win the game at better than -149.25 at BetOnline.

Each group will be played in a double-elimination bracket format (GSL). The initial matches are Bo1. The following matches are Bo3. The winner of each group advances to the Semifinals. The next two teams advance to the Quarterfinals. The Playoffs are played in a single-elimination bracket format. The Grand Final is a Bo5 series.
ESL One: Cologne 2018 offers a prize pool of $300,000, which will be divided among participants in the following way:
? 1st place: $125,000
? 2nd place: $50,000
? 3rd – 4th place: $22,000
? 5th – 6th place: $11,000
? 7th – 8th place: $7,500
? 9th – 12th place: $6,000
? 13th – 16th place: $5,000
With their recently changed roster, mousesports are a slightly less stable team now compared to the version that had STYKO in it, and we’ve yet to see whether or not Snax was the right choice as his replacement. I personally think it wasn’t, and I’m expecting mousesports to disappoint at ESL One: Cologne 2018. But definitely not against the likes of Gambit Esports.
Betway puts the odds for this match at 1.40 – 2.75 in favor of mousesports, and by far the most likely outcome is a victory in their favor.
Betting prediction: mousesports to win, paying -250 at BetOnline.
G2 Esports has a new lineup, but it faces a very strong opponent in this match. Na’Vi has been performing phenomenally in the last few months, playing in multiple Grand Finals and winning two events: CS:GO Asia Championships 2018 and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5. In light of these achievements, Na’Vi is without a doubt the clear favorite here.
Betway puts the odds at 2.95 – 1.35 in favor of Natus Vincere and at these odds, this match constitutes a great betting opportunity.
Betting prediction: Natus Vincere to win, paying -285.71 at BetOnline.
FaZe Clan is the second best team in the world in spite of playing with an ever changing 5th and dealing with roster issues. Its recent addition, cromen, seems to have integrated quite well in this all-star lineup and the overall performances have been great for the past 2 months: 4 top 4 placements at the latest 4 tournaments, including 2 titles: one at Intel Extreme Masters XIII Sydney and one at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018.
On the other side, B.O.O.T-d[S] has no significant achievements to speak of and is lightyears behind from FaZe in every respect. Which is why I fully expect the Europeans to crush them in this match.
Betway puts the odds at 1.10 – 5.75 in favor of FaZe Clan and this is practically free money to be made.
Betting prediction: FaZe Clan to win, paying -1000 at BetOnline.
This is a total mismatch between the currently strongest team in the world and a complete outsider to the world of tier 1 Counter-Strike. This match should be regarded as an opportunity to make some easy money.
Betway puts the odds at 1.15 – 4.75 in favor of Astralis, and the only reason why these odds are so high on their side is the Bo1 format of the match.
Betting prediction: Astralis to win, paying -666.67 at BetOnline.
Fnatic is now 60% Fnatic and 40% NiP, as the core of the old Fnatic remained (JW, flusha and KRIMS) and two NiP players (Xizt and draken) have been brought in to replace Lekr0 and Golden. It’s not yet clear how well these players will mesh together, but given the fact that these are basically two teams fused into one, much of the synergy should be inherited.
On the other hand, North is a team with a lot of talented players but not that many results to speak of. The tournament they won recently, DreamHack Open Tours 2018, was not very prestigious and had no big teams in it. So it’s not particularly relevant in determining North’s skill level.
Overall, I think that Fnatic has an edge in this match and is much more likely to win it.
Betway puts the odds at 1.65 – 2.10 in favor of Fnatic, anticipating a very close match. It might be, but there’s nothing about North that suggests they’re a truly strong team. And I definitely don’t think they’re on Fnatic’s level.
Betting prediction: Fnatic to win, paying -153.85 at BetOnline.
This is another huge mismatch, between a tier 2 team and one of the top contenders at any CS:GO event. Since the addition of NAF and TACO, Team Liquid has turned into a powerhouse and it’s only a matter of time until this roster achieves a level of fluency that allows it to get a top 4 finish in every single tournament.
Betway puts the odds for this match at 3.10 – 1.32 in favor of Team Liquid, clearly regarding Liquid as the favorite. And I fully agree with this assessment, except I see this team as being even stronger than these odds reflect.
Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying -312.5 at BetOnline.
Both of these teams are currently struggling to make it to the Playoffs of big events and when they manage to achieve this, they’re usually eliminated in their first match of this stage. However, in light of its recent performances, NiP is slightly favored to win this dispute. But the skill difference between them and their opponents is minimal.
Betway puts the odds at 1.60 – 2.20, anticipating a close match but still favoring NiP to emerge victorious.
Betting prediction: Ninjas in Pyjamas to win, paying -166.67 at BetOnline.
Renegades is a strong team from Australia, but it’s facing MIBR in this match, which is actually the former roster of SK Gaming. Fallen and his teammates simply moved from one organization to another, most likely as a result of better contracts and greater promises for the future. MIBR (Made in Brazil) is an old CS:GO brand which has just been revitalized. And who better to represent it than this incredible roster?
Betway puts the odds for this match at 3.20 – 1.30 in favor of MIBR, and its assessment is absolutely correct.
Betting prediction: MIBR to win, paying -333.33 at BetOnline.

]]>ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018 features 8 teams divided into 2 groups.
Group A:
? FaZe Clan
? SK Gaming
? Space Soldiers
? Ghost Gaming
Group B:
? mousesports
? Team Liquid
? BIG
? Nao Tem Como
Both groups will be played in a GSL format (double-elimination bracket). All matches will be Bo3. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the Playoffs, which will be played in a single-elimination bracket format. Semifinals will be Bo3. Finals will be Bo5.
After around 2 months of weaker results, FaZe Clan struck back at IEM Sydney, defeating Astralis in the Grand Final (3 – 0) and claiming the title. It was a shocking result for everyone and showed that you should never discard this team in the fierce battle for trophies, no matter how overpowered its opponent may seem.
At its next important event, ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, FaZe Clan finished 3rd-4th after losing to Astralis in the Semifinals. Keep in mind however that the team is currently playing with a stand-in. At IEM Sydney it played with Xizt as its 5th, while at ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals it played with cromen. Olofmeister is still unavailable due to personal problems.
For me, FaZe Clan is the second strongest team at ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018 and for sure the strongest team in Group A. As a result, they should easily advance to the Playoffs.
Ghost Gaming is a North American team with no international experience and a relatively unknown roster. Except for steel and koosta, everyone is a no-name at this point. It remains to be seen whether or not Ghost Gaming can win any matches at this event, but the stats say the probably won’t.
Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.07 – 7.00 in favor of FaZe Clan, regarding this match as a done deal for the European team. To improve your gains, you should definitely bet on the individual maps. That would give you an easy 21% profit for each of these bets.
Betting prediction: FaZe Clan to win map 1, paying -500 at BetOnline.
SK Gaming dominated CS:GO for two years and then collapsed for a number of reasons. Ultimately, TACO left the team and joined Team Liquid, being replaced by Stewie2K from Cloud9. For a few tournaments after Stewie’s transfer, SK Gaming looked like a shadow of its former self, suffering bad defeats against some really weak teams.
Lately, SK Gaming started to show signs of strength again, going head to head with a very strong Na’Vi side in the Quarterfinals of StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5. SK lost that match after having the lead (1 – 2), but the performance itself was excellent. Then, in the lesser known Moche XL Esports tournament, SK Gaming won the title by defeating HellRaisers in the Grand Final (2 – 0).
At this point, SK Gaming is a fairly strong team and should get a 3rd-4th place finish at ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018. Also, keep in mind that SK will be playing in front of its home crowd at this event and that may have a positive effect on its performance.
Space Soldiers used to be a very strong team until several months ago. Then it dropped enormously in strength for around 3 months but has resurfaced with good results in June. In 2018, the team won DreamHack Open Austin 2018 and placed 2nd at World Electronic Sports Games 2017 and Play2Live Cryptomasters. Space Soldiers is a fairly strong CS:GO team, but is unlikely to cause any upsets against the likes of SK Gaming, FaZe Clan and the others.
Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.27 – 3.55 in favor of SK Gaming, regarding them as the clear favorites to take the win here.
Betting prediction: SK Gaming to win , paying -370.37 at BetOnline.
After the acquisition of NAF and TACO, Team Liquid finally got a world class roster that can compete with any opponent. However, the results weren’t great in the first few months, simply because the team needed more time to fully integrate its newest members and achieve perfect fluency in all of its tactics. The potential to get top placements was definitely there, but Team Liquid wasn’t ready to score yet.
Then it happened. Liquid played in the Grand Finals of two premier events in the last month (ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and Esports Championship Series Season 5 Finals). Both of them ended with losses against Astralis, a team that seems to be unstoppable at this point, but the results themselves were still exceptional and clearly showed that Team Liquid should be regarded as a top contender at any event.
Going into ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018, Liquid is the team most likely to win and should get at least a 2nd place finish.
BIG is a complete outsider to the world of big Counter-Strike at this point and has little to no chances of qualifying for the Playoffs. The team’s only notable result in 2018 was a 1st place finish in a local tournament, ESEA Season 27: Global Challenge, where it defeated Team Spirit in the Grand Final.
Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.22 – 3.96 in favor of Team Liquid. Again, you should be betting on the individual rounds. That will give you much higher profits while the risks are absolutely minimal (below 5%).
Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win map 1, paying -454.55 at BetOnline.
Mousesports is a top 6 team in CS:GO right now and has had an exceptional season so far. The team won StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, V4 Future Sports Festival Budapest 2018, as well as the regional stage of ESL Pro League Season 7. At the last 3 tournaments it participated in (IEM XIII Sydney, ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5), mousesports placed 3rd – 4th, 5th – 6th and 3rd – 4th respectively. Overall, mousesports is playing great CS right now and should definitely qualify for the Playoffs of ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018.
Nao Tem Como is a Brazilian team made up of several former SK Gaming players as well as a few local stars. The team has great potential and will be playing in front of its home crowd, but I really doubt its ability to upset mousesports in this match.
Arcane.bet puts the odds at 1.42 – 2.74, giving the Brazilians a lot of respect. However, all things considered, this should be an easy victory for mousesports.
Betting prediction: mousesports to win , paying -238.1 at BetOnline.

10th-12th place: 0 points; $8,000
Fnatic is one of those teams with a great roster, enormous potential and consistent results, except there’s one problem: these results are always slightly below what’s required to gain big qualification points for The International 2018 and climb faster in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings. Fnatic got many top four and top six finishes this season, but it still has problems against most of the top teams. The team should do enough to finish top six in Birmingham, but it is unlikely to climb any higher than fifth-sixth.
Vici Gaming finished third at the recent MDL Changsha Major. The Chinese team is currently sitting at number six in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings and has multiple top four finishes in DPC events this year, including four grand finals. These guys have to be considered an excellent chance to reach the semis.
The TI 7 finalists have had a pretty rough season, but the team’s results have been good enough for a top eight placement within the Dota Pro Circuit rankings. Newbee is currently sitting at number seventh in this hierarchy with 2445 points. The team finished fourth at the recent MDL Changsha Major, proving that it’s still one of the world’s best.
Team Liquid performs very well when there’s no pressure, so this tournament might just be the perfect opportunity to win another title. Liquid is already qualified for The International 2018, so this is just a rehearsal for the most awaited event of the year. The team is currently sitting at number three in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings with 6084 points, but KuroKy and his squad will surely want to prove to everyone that they’re capable of becoming the first team in the history of Dota to win two TIs. Given the group seedings and the level of opposition at ESL One, Team Liquid has a high chance of reaching the grand final.
Evil Geniuses have a lot to play for at ESL One Birmingham 2018 and need a top three finish in order to climb back into the eight and secure a direct invite to The International. If they fail to do this, there is a very high chance we won’t see EG at TI8, simply because two of their regional opponents – VGJ.Storm and OpTic Gaming – are incredibly strong right now. EG’s best results this season were a title at GESC: Indonesia Dota2 Minor and a third-place finish at DreamLeague Season 8. It’s not very likely that EG will get a top four finish in Birmingham, but a top six should be within their reach.
OpTic Gaming is the strongest underdog of this tournament and we’ve yet to see how much ppd and his teammates have improved since their title win at StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5. Given the group seedings and the level of competition at ESL One Birmingham 2018, it will be difficult for OpTic to get out of the group stage. Still, the team is led by a former TI champion and should be regarded as a strong contender that could produce big upsets.
Virtus.pro is another team that’s famous for performing well at big events and has already won two ESL One Majors this year. Solo and his teammates will probably experiment with original drafts and strategies at this tournament, so from a betting perspective it might be risky to take VP’s side in certain matches – especially against world-class opponents. Still, Virtus.pro is a top three contender for sure and should have a deep run at ESL One. Currently the number one team in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings, VP is expected to get a top four finish at this event.
Although not that far from peak form, Mineski is still slightly weaker than the other top candidates. Currently sitting at number five in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings, the Southeast Asian team finished fifth-sixth at MDL Changsha Major after losing to Newbee. A similar outcome looms at ESL One Birmingham 2018.

This is a match between two teams of similar strength, but Fnatic has the upper hand. EG showed many signs of weakness in their last tournament and lost against multiple teams, including Fnatic. Both EG and Fnatic have everything to play for at ESL One Birmingham 2018, so this battle will no doubt be fierce. Betway puts the odds at -117.65 each, anticipating a close match in which anyone could win.
Betting prediction: Fnatic to win
Wednesday, May 23 – 11am BST
The skill difference between these two sides is absolutely huge. Unless VP decides to go for a weird draft and just YOLO it, Solo and his squad should get a quick victory over Team Spirit. Betway has installed Virtus.pro as overwhelming -833.33 favorites, but even that price seems high considering the enormous likelihood of victory.
Betting prediction: Virtus.pro to win
Wednesday, May 23 – 12:10pm BST
This is another match in which one of the teams is much stronger than the other. No doubt, paiN Gaming has improved a lot after w33’s transfer, but the squad is still light years away from Liquid in terms of overall strategy and team play. That is not even to mention the fact that Liquid has one of the strongest players in the world for each role. Betway puts the odds at -666.67 to +375 in favor of Team Liquid, giving you a 15 per cent profit for an almost certain result.
Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win
Wednesday, May 23 – 12:10pm BST
OG had a short period of glory at MDL Changsha Major, defeating iG Vitality and even Mineski. However, the rest of the teams quickly realized what their strategy was and simply banned their favorite heroes. After that it was back to struggle town for the Europeans, who have had a rough season so far and clearly lack a set of coherent strategies that have been properly tested and implemented. Given Vici Gaming’s strength and versatility, it is hard to see OG having any chance whatsoever. Betway is paying -250 odds for Vici, which makes this easily the best betting opportunity for the first day of ESL One Birmingham 2018.
Betting prediction: Vici Gaming to win
Wednesday, May 23 – 1:20pm BST
This is perhaps the most balanced match on day one, taking place between two strong opponents that have excellent rosters and great team strategies. Both have formidable captains, but Newbee has a slight advantage in terms of experience and individual skill. It has also been performing quite well recently, which is why Betway is giving them a slight edge at -142.86 against OpTic’s +105 return.
Betting prediction: Newbee to win
Wednesday, May 23 – 11pm BST
It has been a while since we’ve seen LGD.Forever Young on the big stage, so it’s a complete mystery what this team is capable of at this point. LFY qualified for this event by defeating Keen Gaming, VGJ.Thunder and Invictus Gaming in the Chinese qualifier, which suggests that it might be a fairly strong contender. And given Mineski’s rather mediocre form in recent weeks, this match is the perfect opportunity to have a crack at the underdog. Betway puts the odds at -222.22 to +155 in favor of Mineski, so there is plenty of value in tipping an upset.
Betting prediction: LGD. Forever Young to win

]]>The tournament will run from May 23-27 and will be worth $1m in prize money and 1500 qualifying points for the Invitational 8 in a massive boost for esports in the UK.
The event, which will see 12 of the best teams in the world battle it out, will have six teams invited automatically while another six will find their way through online qualifying taking place in China, North America, Europe, CIS, South East Asia and South America.
Dota 2 events all over the world have been awash with UK fans, who are known to travel, and the opportunity to host an event is a dream come true for organisers, according to ESL UK Managing Director James Dean.
“This is a dream come true for the ESL UK team and a fantastic win for the UK scene,” he said.
“Dota 2 was the very first tournament we ran just after starting up in 2012.? We are honoured to have this opportunity and hope to make the Dota 2 community extremely proud. We look forward to being an integral part of the success of this event, and to the potential of having ESL One back in Birmingham next year.”
Birmingham hosted other ESL UK events, such as ESL Arena, which was the biggest esports activation ever held in the UK, but the decision to host ESL one in England is set to give the sport another welcome boost in publicity and boost participation rates across the country.
“It’s tremendous news for the city to be playing host to such a prestigious international esports event,” Mayor of the West Midlands. Andy Street said.
“Birmingham is renowned for major sporting events such as the World Indoor Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games, so we very much look forward to welcoming the Dota 2 community. As the second largest city in the UK, Birmingham has a huge amount to offer and hosting the UK’s first Dota 2 Major adds to the city’s fascinating history.”
ESL One Birmingham will feature a wider festival celebrating Dota 2, as well as opportunities for fans to get involved in making the major special. More details will be coming soon.
Tickets for the event go on sale on March 15 and range in price from £19 to £139.
