DreamHack has announced that Malm? will be the location for their second CS: GO Masters event of 2019, hosting 16 teams that will compete for $250,000 in prize money.

The competition announced yesterday that October 2019 will mark the third time DreamHack Masters is held at the Swedish city, which also hosted the inaugural tournament in 2016, then again in 2017.

The 2018 DreamHack Masters was held at Marseille.

The DreamHack event will be held in Malm? as a part of the Malm? Game Week festival and will be split into two stages — the group stage and playoffs.

Group Stages will take place in Malm? M?ssan, the exhibition and convention centre in the city. Playoffs, on the other hand, will move to the Malm? Arena.

Michael Van Driel, the chief product officer at DreamHack, was understandably excited after the announcement.

“Malm? was the first city to ever host DreamHack Masters and so it holds a special place in all of our hearts, including a legendary win from NiP (Ninjas in Pyjamas) on home soil,” Van Driel said.

“We are tremendously excited to bring CORSAIR DreamHack Masters back to Malm? Arena and fans can expect the best experience yet as we expand to feature matches for 3 days in the arena and continue with more improvements for the visitor experience.”

As of now, the only information regarding the event is that it will happen.

The DreamHack Counter-Strike official twitter account simply wrote, “Back to where it all began…Malm?!!”, which was enough to light up the eyes of CS: GO fans around the globe. Other than that, there is no additional information released about it, however, we can expect the details about slot allocation to be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

Revealing the location of the 2nd CS: GO DreamHack Masters might come off as an early Christmas present for all the European CS: GO fans, who will not be able to attend the DreamHack Dallas 2019 event, that is set to take place from May 28th to June 2nd.

While there will, of course, still be fans who live far from Malm? and won’t be able to attend the event, it’s still nice to see DreamHack Masters returning to where it all began.
